Valgrays are highly delighted to be invited to join forces with other charities to put on an agility display demo at this years Discover Dogs. Valgrays Rescue Dogs and handlers have now been chosen:
Saturday (run time 3pm): Val with Sky + Marian with Tia + Pat with Sophia + Phillipa with Boz
Sunday (run time 1.55pm): John with Susie + Chris with Cassie + Lesley with Meg + Lin with Penny

Valgrays Dog Walk (Ashdown Forest) 24/10/09
Well just got back from the Valgrays Dog Forest Walk, and wanted to say thank you to Richard for organising it .. had a lovely day chatting to everyone, and we had a video taken of us all which I understand might be made into some sort of Valgrays film which we will be able to view and link to our website ... which is very nice, just a shame it will be a bit spoilt by everyone (well me mainly!) looking like drowned rats due to the unfortunate weather.
I took loads of photos, and then managed to break my camera (terminally!), but hopefully Marian's other half salvaged the photos and so I have added them to the Valgrays Photobucket site (link below).
I think I counted around 24 dogs present today, no bad words between any of them. Winnie (the new in lurcher) came and when let off showed the collies just what 'real speed' is .. she left them standing - it was great to see her having such a brilliant time sprinting about after being couped up in the pound. Thanks to everyone who came and it was a great day despite the weather.

Long Shot - but can you help identify some Valgrays dogs??
Due to the fact that Valgrays storage area had a huge roof leak when loads of our records were destroyed, we have loads of photos of dogs that we cannot identify. Most have names, but some are unnamed. Would anyone who has had a Valgrays dog in years passed (certainly pre 2006) please take the time to check out the very bottom of our '2006 & before rehomed' dogs page. CASSIE: On Friday 28th November thieves went to a farm at Oxenhope, near Keighley, West Yorkshire with the intention of stealing diesel. Having had their diesel stolen on a previous occasion the owners had locked the tank and hence the thieves were unable to take any. Nevertheless they went through a couple of sheds, but found nothing to steal. However, rather than leaving empty handed they took the farm's Border Collie. Cassie is 3 years old, smooth/medium coated and tri-coloured. She is/was wearing a blue collar. Her big distinguishing feature is that her tail is short, only half the normal length, as her mother nipped it off when she was born. DRIFT & CHESTER: Reunited 01/05/09: Found wandering together by a concerned dog breeder. Originally stolen 28/04/09 from Bierley, Bradford: Owner got out of van to lock gates behind her, thieves jumped into van stealing van and the two dogs who were inside. Huge internet & postering campaign started, which hopefully made these dogs too hot to handle and they were released.
