Sky: 'Valgrays Reach for the Sky': Previously owned by a young girl in Cheshire.  Rehomed to Val of Valgrays & will be doing agility!!  Sky has been hard work, having bitten Val's mates, & her exuberance had never been controlled; she had no manners or respect for anything in life.  But Val just loved those juicy eyes of hers, so lots & lots of hard work has now paid off, but it has not been an easy ride!!! ... Adopted 04/09/06

Kez (12 weeks old) 'Kez The Bandit of Valgrays':  Rehomed 03/2006 to an agility home - owner says 'Kez is a typical woman in as much that I have to issue her with a firm hand in conversaton, but can only win her over if I give her total respect (seemingly only the fellas will understand that one!!!). Kez won Grade 3 Agility at Cippenham show 24/05/09.

Cassie aka Sammie (now Tally) 'Final Fantasy of Valgrays': Previously kept in a top floor flat with unwell owner. Rehomed to an agility home with Sarah (C). Still competing and doing well in 2009. 

* Charlie:  Rehomed 12/2004 with John & Ian to become a trick expert!  Previous family did not have enough time for him.  (See 'Stories' page). 

* Cinders 'Red Hot Cindy of Valgray':  Rehomed 04/2005 with Francis Gavin.   (See 'Stories' page).

Elliott: Beautiful blue merle boy (born 07/10/03). Sadly needed a new home as previous owner became poorly.  Rehomed 2004.

Haze:  Rehomed  2004 to an agility home.

Josie (8 years old): Badly treated girlie who was rehomed via Marion (Petersfield) to Nicky & Keith in 2004. Photo shows Josie with her training club's 'Best Veteran' award in 2008, in 2009 she was 13 years old. Josie lives with two other dogs, and Nicky & Keith say she is just perfect. Josie gained her Silver Good Citizen award, and narrowly missed getting her Gold.

* Rusty (10 months old) 'Valgrays Rustyman':  Previously kept tied in a shed!  Rehomed 05/2004 with Angie Brooks to become an agility star.  (See 'Stories' page).

Willow (1 yr old).  Underweight & nervous when came to Valgrays.  Rehomed 2004 with Sarah & Lee Dangerfield who say although she is now 5 years old she thinks she is 5 months in how she acts!!   Lovely!

2003 & 2002:

Daz (then Neo now Tess): Rehomed 2003 to Michael (C) & Christine (K). Jess loves playing football where her herding skills are used to full potential!!  Photo is more recent. 

Fudge: 'Budget Fudgit of Valgrays'. Rehomed 2003 from Petersfield branch.  Fudge has not been an easy dog, but Lindsay Evans and family love him to bits and are sure he is happy with them and his 3 other doggy mates.  He is their cuddle bunny!

Jack: 'Stanalees Jack of Valgray'.  Rehomed 2003 at 15 months to Keith (H). Jack had spent his early life locked in a farm shed and was only 13kg when rescued. Homed via Jeri Omlo and went agility training with Shirley Robinson who helped turn this fearful dog into a wonderful boy who now loves his chickens, cats and football!  

Kay: 'Special Kay of Valgrays': Rehomed 05/2003 at 18 months old to Tina and Laura. Kay has been successful in agility and has competed in the YKC at Crufts and is now doing Flyball. She competed at Crufts 2007 in the Flyball. Most importantly she is just a real 'cuddle monster!'. Kay lives with 'Gin' of Kate & Gin fame (Britians Got Talent) as Kate & Laura are sisters. Meisha:  Rehomed 2002 to Mickie.  Meisha was Vals' mums dog, but sadly when she had a bad stroke Val was unable to care for her mum and keep Meisha too, so Mickie kindly took her on and loved her.  Val's mum would have been so happy to see her so well.  Thank you Mickie.  Photo on right taken 2008. Sadly Meisha passed away Sept 2008.   (See 'In Memory' page).

Sam 'Boomerang Sam of Valgrays': Rehomed 01/03/2002 with Gerry (C) of Northampton Agility Club.

* Trudie (elderly):  Thrown out of a car and left alone when at her most vulnerable.  Rehomed as a pet with Valerie Rothlisberger-Jones, thank you so much Valerie for giving this old girl the last months she so deserved.  (See 'In Memory' page).

2001:

Barney (young) 'Bouncing Barney of Valgrays': Fostered by Heather (N) and rehomed 08/04/01 to an agility home with Lesley (W). Barney is imortalised as there are photographs of him in Mary Ann Nester's book on agility training.

* Barney (6 months old) 'Barney of Valgrays':  Transfered from Mayhew Dogs Home to Valgryas.  Rehomed 08/2001 with Pat Dangerfield to a pet home.  Likes carrying his (and everyone elses) toys around).  (See 'Stories' page).

Bryn (young) (now called Prince):  Fostered with Peggy (S) 04/2001 & stayed permanently!  Was going to do agility, but found it too stressful due to sound sensitivity, so instead enjoys quiet countryside walks with Peggy's husband.

Chuck (4 months old) 'Chuck Waggin of Valgrays':  Rehomed 2001 with Rob White and still loves doing agility in 2008 and is a superb companion.

Amber (now Sasha) 'Super Sasha of Valgrays': Rehomed March 2000 to Trudie (B) and became a Grade 6 agility dog in 2008. Super by name and super by nature! (Hopefully photo will be added in the future)

Kit (6 months) 'Kit Kat Kid of Valgrays': Rehomed August 1999 to Collette Williams & family. Was nervous, but turned into a wonderful dog, and is much loved.  (See 'Stories' page).

Kryten (was Bounder) (8 months).  Rehomed 1999 with Sam Beavis.  Kryten did obedience, but not agility due to epilepsy.  A fantastic boy and a solid member of the family!  Top left photo at 9 months and right photo taken in 2008 when Kryten was 9 years old.

Lewis (was Rory/Amber Eyes) (pup).  Found straying in a road in Wales.  Rehomed 1999 with Sue (P) (who also had Lottie (was Molly). Photo  shown was taken later in his life. Sadly Lewis passed away in November 2009. RIP Lewis.

Emmy (pup) 'Valgrays Emerald':  Originally unwanted farm pup from County Mayo.  Rehomed 1996 with Janet Whiteley & is now 11 years old and well in 2008 (litter sister to Annie) - photo more recent.

Copper: Stray from Police pound.  Lovely dog.  Rehomed 1994.

Denby  (16 months):  Yes a Papillon!  Kept in a pigeon crate until rescued!  Rehomed 1994 with Lynda Stangle starting her love of this breed.  Sadly at Rainbow Bridge 15/9/06 (13½).

Ben: Lab type. Had been used as dog fighting 'bait' and received a severed ear.

Buttons (above 'before' on left & 'after' on right) (2 year old): 1993 She weighed just 11lbs with a girth of 9 1/2 inches.  She had been beaten, starved and generally neglected being shut in a garden shed.  A neighbour heard a noise and went to the rescue.  After 3 months of intensive nursing & veterinary treament Buttons was rehomed to a lovely couple and lived to a very old age.

Chance (now Henry): Into rescue in poor condition. Rehomed December 1993 to pet home.

Cree 'Valgrays Marmaduke Gingerbits':  Rehomed 1993 with Val became a Senior Agility Dog.  Cree died in 2000,

Duke: 5 year old. Left at Boarding Kennels. Rehomed.

Ed 'Ellinwood Mr Ed of Valgray':  Rehomed 03/1993 with John & Ellinor to do agility.  Sadly was pts after suffering a massive stroke 2001 that left him part paralysed.  Rest easy Ed.

Nell: Farmer about to shoot her, Val stepped in & rehomed to a 2,000 acre arab stud!  Wow!

Jake: From pet shop to family in small flat who couldn't cope.  Rehomed to Dartford Agility Club member.

Ky: Photo above on left when he came into rescue, on right in his lovely home. 'Midnight Ky Boy of Valgrays' Prev owner International Sheep Trialer. Ky was neglected, full of worms, totally matted.  Rehomed 1992 to Jeri (V)(Cornwall).  Sadly passed away 1994.

Tyler: Originally homed in 1992 to a pub, but decided it was fun to try and catch darts, so for his safety he came back and Dot (Vals mum) kept him. When Dot died Dick and Barbara homed him and gave him loads of love until he sadly passed away in 2008. (In Memory Page)

Jodie:  Rehomed with Liz Ritson to enjoy agility.  Such a lovely little dog.  Sadly Jodie passed away around 2004, and dear Liz died in 2008.

Ginny: 'Ginny Jump Jet' Rehomed 1990 to Carol & Jim (W) and became a Senior Agility Dog.

Gypsia: Rehomed 1990 to Joan (E).

Kaya:  Rehomed with Val's mum (Dot). 

Kerry: Rehomed to Terry (P).

Kismo: Difficult temperament.

Lassie: Rehomed 1990 to Bobbie (R).

Lucy: Rehomed 1990 to Evelyn (M) (Tunbridge Wells DCS).

Max: Rehomed 1990 to Micky (B) (Downlands Agility Club).

Munchie: Rehomed 1990 to Steve (T) (Thames DTC).

Nutkin: Rehomed 1990 to Neville Uden.

Polly: Rehomed 1990 as Mountain Rescue dog (sister to Bracken).

Purdy:  Rehomed 1990 with Francis (P) to an agility home. 

Sam: Beardie Collie. Severe case of neglect when into Valgrays. Sadly vets couldn't save Sam and he died of kidney failure.

Sheba (XB):  Stray on Mitcham Common. Rehomed to a farm.

Storm: 'Wraybord Storm' (belonged to Syd Taylor who sadly died). Rehomed 1990 to pet home.

Suzie: Original owner went back into forces. Rehomed to Norman (L) (Ewell Agility Club).

Thomas: 9 weeks old. He was the last in a litter from a farm (born 20/05/90) and was about to be sent to the pet shop!  Val & friends were at a dog show when they heard about him & no one had the £10 needed to save him, so they ended up paying for him in loose change that was begged, borrowed or stolen from friends at the showground!  Thomas stayed with Val and was a super dog.

Toby: Difficult temperament.

Zar: Rehomed 1990 to Bonita (L).

Zoey: GSD. Came into rescue with Parvo, but pulled through! Rehomed to Alun (C) (BATS).

1989:

Buzz: 'Buzz Bomb' 8 months old.  Rehomed to Bill (C) and won at Olympia in 1992.

1988:

Dizzy: 'Miss Dizzy' 10 months old.  Farm bred.  Rehomed to Jane (B) and had loads of agility wins including a win at Olympia.

Tessa 'Tessa Tees of Valgrays': Rehomed 1988 at 1 year old with Val & became a Senior Agility Dog.  Tessa died in 1999 (aged 11).

1984:

Bess: Rehomed 1984 at 6 months old with Val & became another successful agility star.  Bess passed away 1999 (15 years old).

1982:

Lassie: Previous owners couldn't cope with her chewing. Rehomed 1982 to cattle farm.

1981:

Bob: Stray with old break in his leg. Rehomed 1981 to pet home.

1978:

Meg 'Motor Girl': Rehomed 1978 with Val and became a huge agility star.  Meg passed away in 1994.

1977:

George (above) 'Motor Mouse': Rehomed 1977 with Val (he was Val's very first rescue dog) and became a huge agility star.  Sadly George died in 1988.

Blue:  So sad, Blue had so many problems and was extremely unsafe around people, now at Rainbow Bridge.

Bonnie:  Rehomed.

Crystal:  Rehomed.

Dizzy:  Rehomed.

Echo (11 years old):  Previous owner had to go into a rest home. Echo was rehomed.

Fred:  Rehomed.

Ice (pup):  Rehomed to an agility home and was winner of the Valgrays Novice Dog of the year in 1999.

Jazz: XB Tri colour. Rehomed.

Litter (above 'before' on left & 'after' on right):  Taken from mum far too early and passed to Valgrays.  All were successfully rehomed.

Meg (above 'before' on left & 'after' on right) (severe neglect case): This was the worse case of neglect Val had seen for a long long time.  She came to Valgrays on Christmas Day and was so weak she could not even stand.  Previous owners were banned from ever owning another dog. After 3 weeks of intensive nursing Meg was able to sit without our help.  Meg made a full recovery and was rehomed in a loving pet home.

Red: Red & white. Rehomed.

Rusty:  Rehomed with Carol (H) to an agility home.

Sally:  Rehomed.

Sasha (Belgian Shepherd):  Rehomed.

Spookie: Pup. Mainly white with black. Rehomed.

Spot:  Rehomed.

Teddy 'Valgrays Teddy Tum Tum':  Rehomed.

Twiggy: Lurcher X Saluki. Rehomed.

Unnamed (above): (cruelty case) Found wondering and was extremely disorientated, wounds believed to be a result of chemical burns! 

Unnamed:  Chained farm dog, who was terrified of life when first rescued.  Rehomed.

Unnamed:  Rehomed with Celia.

Unnamed:  Lovely tri colour.  Rehomed.
